Nantua Farm (pronounced nan-chew-uh) is a small private training and sales facility located in the rolling hills of Richmond, KY just outside of Lexington. While we specialize in retraining off-the-track thoroughbreds for new careers in dressage, eventing, foxhunting and polo, we also offer training board for starting and restarting horses.

Nantua Farm also produces fantastic sale horses that range from green to bombproof and usually have several off-the-track thoroughbreds in training. Looking for Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds for Retraining/Sale Program:
We are always looking for more off-the-track thoroughbreds (OTTB's) to purchase and/or retrain for our program, so please get in touch with us if you have a sound thoroughbred you are looking to move. Depending on the horses you have to offer, we are willing to travel throughout the mid-west, south and mid-atlantic regions. However, we would prefer to take OTTB's from the local area (within 2-3 hour drive from Richmond, KY) that we are able to see in person, vet check and, if allowed, test ride. Considering the current economy, we are extremely particular on the thoroughbreds we are willing to take a chance to retrain. For this reason, we will only accept horses that have no pre-existing injuries and are fairly correct conformationally. We prefer horses that are bay, dark dapple gray or chestnut and between 16 hh and 17.3 hh. We are willing to take horses directly off of the track and would love any ex-steeplechasers...
